Information for Teachers

Dear Science Fair Supporter,

Welcome to the 2022 Central Alberta Regional Science Fair.  The fair will be held virtually on March 26, 2022.  This will be the 39th CARSF. Planning a Science Fair is a year long process and involves the input of many people.  We can always use help and cordially invite you to become a member of our group.

Students are to create an account and register through Videos explaining the process are outlined below:

Step 1: Creating an account on mySTEMspace

This video will guide you through the process of creating an account on mySTEMspace.

Step 2: Creating your project on ProjectBoard

After creating an account on mySTEMspace (step 1) this video will guide you through the process of creating your project on ProjectBoard.

Step 3: Submitting your project to a Regional Science Fair

After creating an account on mySTEMspace (step 1) and creating your project on ProjectBoard (step 2), this video will guide you through the process of submitting your project to a virtual regional science fair.

Students will still put together a display board or a poster outlining their project in addition to uploading information about their project to mystemspace/projectboard.  Judging will take place virtually on Microsoft Teams or another online platform.

We must bring these points to your attention and ask for your cooperation:

  1. CARSF reserves the right to limit the number of entries from district fairs and from individual schools.

  2. CARSF will allow NO deadline extensions for entries. The deadline for the 2022 science fair is March 19, 2022. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER ON THE WEBSITE AFTER THAT DATE. PLEASE RESPECT THIS DEADLINE.

  3. CARSF recommends that schools in a district without a district fair hold a school or classroom science fair to determine the order in which entries will be accepted by the Regional Fair.  ***Please note for 2022, this is not a requirement, students may enter directly on their own***

  4. Because we are in a public facility, CARSF insists that students and their displays adhere strictly to the rules and regulations which govern entries and displays. ***For 2022, students may demonstrate their projects as they will be presenting from their homes***

  5. CARSF requests that each school participating in the Central Alberta Regional Science Fair provide at least one delegate to be responsible for their students during the fair and to assist with the supervision of students at the college and during the Saturday activities.  ***Please note in 2022 there will be no activities at Red Deer College***
